Mariacarla Boscono is a very expressive model and Steven Meisel one of my favorite fashion photographers but what I underline in this photoshoot October's Vogue Italia  is the amazing styling by Panos Yiapanis. 

VIKTOR & ROLF SPRING SUMMER 2011

Moving away from last season’s dark outing for a remix of a classic staple–the oversize mens shirt–Viktor & Rolf continued to play with volume and proportion for their spring 2011 collection. From pinstripes to animal print accents, the designer duo presented a grand show which culminated in a finale dress that can only be described as a work of art.

MAISON MARTIN MARGIELA SPRING 2011 - Details

 

 

 

Conceptual cardboard-inspired pieces showed that, according to the team at Margiela HQ, the world is indeed flat...

From last season's exaggerated proportions, the lab-coated team at Maison Martin Margiela took it a step further to make surfaces of clothing appear like a cardboard set, an illusion that isn't really tricking the eye but more like forcing the it to look at the surface of clothing in a completely different way. Interesting view I must say!

Nonconformist Rei Kawakubo at her best with this Spring Summer 2011 collection showed about one hour ago in Paris. With upside jackets which turned skirts, asymmetric coats, siamese models arrested by a third dress, from the magic to the macabre, each Comme des Garçons show was a lesson about another vision of fashion which will become fashion trends in a nearest future.

PEDRO LOURENÇO SPRING SUMMER 2011

 

 

 

Pedro Lourenço is a Brazilian designer with nineteen years old and this is his second show at Paris. In this Spring Summer 2011 collection it is clear his influences by Calvin Klein's Francisco Costa or Courrèges and Nicolas Ghesquière's work at Balenciaga. The designer continued to work almost exclusively with leather, but lightened it up by piecing the material in sharply geometric shapes on the body with nearly invisible tulle.With sharply geometric color blocks and textures, there was a distinctly futuristic vibes in Pedro Lourenço's designs that I loved. But the rigorous architectural construction of his pieces could  be a problem about wearability to make the transition from runway to street.
