The Abominations of the Purple Plateau

This monster has been written using the standard format of OD&D. I still haven't decided whether or not to incorporate the variable stuff from Supplement I.

The Abominations of the Purple Plateau are huge creatures, roughly 7' high and 6' long. They have a big, gelatinous, shapeless body that stands on six, thin legs, plus two arm-like protuberances that end in three thin fingers. Their terrible, great mouth is located on the underside of the abdomen, and is filled with fetid fangs. Their drool is a powerful acid that can easily destroy any metal in a round or so. They have no eyes, but are able to sense their victim within 300', and can "see" 360-degree around (thus they have no front or back). They attack twice a round with their legs, and if they succeed in jumping over the victim they can bite him or her (dealing 2-12 damage plus the acid).

Every time an opponent hits an Abomination of the Purple Plateau, everyone within 10' of the creature must save against Breath or suffer 1-6 damage due to splashes of acid.
