MILAN FASHION WEEK SPRING 2011 - GIANFRANCO FERRÈ

Gianfranco Ferré Spring 2011 collection was inspired by jazz and a biography of Ella Fitzgerald. And while the graphic two-tone motif suggested piano keys, and the bejeweled accents (crystal buttons on a smoking jacket, glitzy jewelry and mirror details on heels), the real story behind the collection was a sexy, heat-seeking wardrobe. Dresses came short, tight and ultra–body con. Crisscross straps on airy pleated dresses added an S&M edge, while bare backs furthered the seduction factor. Tailoring was super sleek, including a rather striking blazer in bright fuchsia.

By night, the designers jazzed things up with glittery sequin- and crystal-covered party gear and the slinkiest of goddess gowns, some with peekaboo cutouts.
