Why Gaga Became Gaga

Lady GaGa Reveals Her Musical Inspiration

To this day Lady GaGa said that her ex-lover was the main one who has helped her with the inspiration on most of her music and she gives full credit to him with inspiring her in almost all of her songs. Lady Gaga is known for many hits but the one that almost everyone remembers is “Poker Face” and her most recent hit includes “Telephone”.

Lady GaGa is convinced that the reason why she's able to write like she does is that it's because of her ex boyfriend Luke who was a heavy metal drummer. She said that after the break up she made a vow that she would never love anyone else again. She goes on further to say that she knows she wouldn't be successful without him. She really loved him and hasn't loved anyone like that since nor before him.

Lady GaGa goes on with saying that if she knew everything there was to know about love she feels that she wouldn’t be good at making music and that things happen for a reason. This break up was hard on her but has helped her in a lot of ways such as with music.

THE NUDES OF JEAN CLEMMER

When Parisian photographer Jean Clemmer died in 2001, he left behind a legacy steeped in sexual intrigue and artistic innovation. Clemmer was Salvador Dali’s personal photographer and Jean Cocteau’s friend and muse. He consorted with the elite of the post-war French intellectual circuit and counted among his closest friends the most incendiary figures of the 1950-60s French avant-garde. He was a painter, a violinist, a surrealist, and, most notably, a photographer of rich and erotically charged nudes that were banned in parts of France even as the country was in the throws of a sexual revolution.

Until now, precious little of Clemmer’s photographic oeuvre has been made public; most of his prints have languished outside of Paris under the care of his niece, sculptor Hélène Clemmer Heidsieck. Copies of his 1969 book Nues, which documents his collaboration with fashion designer Paco Rabanne, are cult collector’s items. From today, Flash Projects in London will make Clemmer’s nudes, as well as the Clemmer-Rabanne collaboration, available to the public for the first time since its censure in 1969.

Canned Candies: The Nudes of Jean Clemmer is on view at Flash Projects, 8 Kingly Street, London, from 26 November through 18 December

Francesca Woodman: When Soul Makes the Body a Tragic and Absurd Scenery

If Francesca Woodman had been a poet, she would have been Sylvia Plath!

The Victoria Miro Gallery is showing a largest Francesca Woodman exhibition. Francesca’s work has struck a definite chord with a generation of art lovers, collectors and gallery-goers during the three decades that have followed her death in 1981, and has appeared in collections in the Metropolitan Museum of Art, the Whitney Museum and MoMA in New York and the Fondation Cartier pour l’art contemporain in Paris, amongst other institutions. The exhibition shows her nakedness, a series of black and white curves and soft focus shadows. Francesca Woodman’s imaginary was taken me to the Kafka’s universe, mainly the Prague writer’s most famous tale, The Metamorphosis. They are pictures that could be described as surrealist, but that have a dark, beating heart that make them a more universal prospect, making her work comparable to that of David Lynch’s gothic aesthetic

Francesca Woodman runs at the Victoria Miro Gallery until 22 January 2011.
